The 15th China Capital Annual Conference (CAAC) and the Hongqiao Science and Technological Innovation Investment Conference took place in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District on Jan 13-14.
The event brought together representatives from over 500 investment institutions, 200 leading companies, and government think tanks from across China.
The conference featured over 20 interactive sessions, including keynote speeches and high-level discussions. These sessions explored the integration of capital, industry, and technology.
Kong Fu'an, executive deputy director of the Hongqiao International Central Business District Administrative Committee, opened the conference with a welcoming speech.
Kong emphasized Hongqiao's role as the world's gateway to the Yangtze River Delta. He highlighted the CBD's focus on developing a high-level headquarters economy, premium services, high-volume trade, and impactful exhibitions.
Hongqiao is thriving in sectors like fashion, low-carbon energy, digital economy, life sciences, and automotive innovation.
Looking ahead, it aims to capitalize on opportunities presented by China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) to enhance its role as a hub for mergers and acquisitions and a pioneer in overseas M&A development.
During the conference, China Bridge Group, the event organizer and an investment service provider, announced the opening of its Yangtze River Delta headquarters in Hongqiao. This move aims to foster discussions on technological upgrades and capital empowerment, establishing Hongqiao as a hub for innovation and resource connection.
Throughout the event, forums provided a platform for in-depth discussions on key topics such as investment trends, technological innovation, and industry-finance collaboration.
