Since establishing its regional headquarters in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District in 2018, German logistics giant Jungheinrich has significantly expanded its presence in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region.
It has established a global software center, an OEM center, and launched the AntOn by Jungheinrich brand in Shanghai, integrating R&D, production, sales, and services.
"Innovations, products, and solutions in China have become a crucial pillar in enhancing our global competitiveness," said Bai Daping, general manager of Jungheinrich China. The company's philosophy, "With China, for Global", underscores its deep integration into the Chinese market.
Shanghai's dynamic innovation ecosystem and comprehensive industrial chain have made it a strategic hub for Jungheinrich. The city's diverse customer needs and advanced supply chain support the company's efforts in automation and intelligence.
Jungheinrich's Shanghai operations have become a model of foreign investment favoring the city. The company's local innovations are now supporting its global operations, with products developed in Shanghai being exported to over 40 countries.
Its factory in Shanghai's Qingpu district exemplifies this success, where local R&D and supply chain strengths have led to products whose export sales exceeded domestic sales. Jungheinrich's software and engineering teams in China also play a crucial role in global projects.
Looking ahead, Jungheinrich plans to increase its investments in Shanghai and China. The focus will be on deepening local market integration and enhancing global supply chain capabilities. This includes boosting the role of Shanghai's software center and advancing digital solutions.
