With about 200 days to go, preparations for the 2026 China International Import Expo (CIIE) are well underway. According to the CIIE bureau, nearly 800 companies from over 70 countries and regions have signed up, filling more than 280,000 square meters of exhibition space, which is over 75 percent of the planned area.
This November's expo will spotlight six future industries from China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30). The event invites global participation, offering support to countries, regions and relevant international organizations eager to showcase in Shanghai.
The ninth edition of the expo will seek to boost the "Exporting to China", "Investing in China", and "Shopping in China" brands. The Hongqiao International Economic Forum is also preparing discussions on various topics to enhance global cooperation.
Sanofi and L'Oreal, both long-time participants, highlight the expo's role in accelerating product launches and fostering innovation. Sanofi's Afketay Tablets debuted at last year's expo and received Chinese regulatory approval just a month later.
The annual CIIE stands as a testament to China's commitment to openness and global business collaboration.
