Visitors arriving in Shanghai are being greeted with a warm welcome and a free cup of coffee from any of 10 countries, as part of the 2026 Hongqiao International Coffee Culture Festival.
Running from May 10 to 14 at the Hongqiao Transportation Hub in Shanghai, the event offers travelers a complimentary taste of international coffee flavors. This year, the festival has expanded from its previous focus on homegrown Yunnan coffee to include selections from far-flung countries such as Panama and Ethiopia.
The "First Cup of Coffee upon Arriving in Shanghai" initiative, which has distributed over 7,500 cups in previous years, aims to make travelers feel at home from the moment they arrive.
It will continue at the festival's themed market from May 15 to 17 at the Noah Wealth Center, inviting both locals and tourists to enjoy the city's coffee culture.
