A practical muShanghai sharing session was held in Alibaba Hongqiao Center on May 27, offering streamlined policy and life guidance to foreign tech founders seeking to launch and run startups in Shanghai.
Part of the ongoing muShanghai, a global tech pop-up city that has attracted over 800 innovators from six continents since its May 10 launch, the event targeted key challenges faced by overseas talent. Hosted with casual, informative sharing and on-site Q&As, it brought together official institutions to deliver one-stop, supportive guidance.
The relevant authorities have clarified key regulations regarding visa exemptions, visa extensions, work permit categories, applications for permanent residency, and accommodation registration. The Hongqiao International Talents Service Center has outlined the procedures for foreign enterprise registration, as well as the social insurance and housing fund policies for expats. They have also provided information on Shanghai's one-stop international talent services and the convenient "Easy Go" entry platform.
CITIC Bank provided practical tips on bank card processing, mobile payment binding, currency exchange and medical services, alongside recommendations for daily-life digital apps. Local talent bodies also introduced favorable startup and talent policies in Minhang district.
Hongqiao International Talents Service Center said it will roll out more tailored professional services to help global tech talent settle, innovate and develop steadily in Shanghai.
