The Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District is accelerating its efforts to become the first stop for young global talent arriving in Shanghai with the opening of the Hongqiao International Youth Innovation Hub.
The hub was officially launched on July 25 at the Minhang District Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference. Located in the core area of the Hongqiao International Open Hub, it offers one-stop services for young entrepreneurs, including talent and business support, startup guidance, and free incubation space.
The facility includes 1,000 square meters of co-working space with about 120 workstations for early-stage startups. During its three-month trial period, it attracted 13 youth-led startup projects.
A network of 19 One-Person Company communities will further help startups grow by connecting them with policy support, investment, technology, and talent.
At the event, the Hongqiao International Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance was also launched. It unites State-owned platforms, innovation parks, top companies, venture capital firms, and professional service providers to support entrepreneurs with legal, financial, technological, and international expansion services.
To strengthen its global talent network, Hongqiao has also opened new overseas talent stations this year in locations including Silicon Valley in the United States and London in the United Kingdom. It has also appointed a new group of global talent ambassadors to attract international professionals and innovative projects to Shanghai.
