The 2026 International Advanced Air Mobility Expo concluded at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in the Hongqiao International Central Business District on July 25. It brought together leading companies, cutting-edge technologies and industry leaders from across the global low-altitude economy.

As China's first major industry event since the low-altitude economy was designated a national emerging pillar industry this March, the expo attracted 452 exhibitors and covered 60,000 square meters.

A total of 570 aircraft and models were displayed, including 51 electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and 501 drones. The exhibits represented the entire industrial chain from aircraft manufacturing and key components to infrastructure and related services.

The expo also highlighted the rapid technological progress being made, with 65 new products and technologies unveiled, including 23 global debuts and 42 China debuts.

Among the highlights was the public debut of the M1 aerial medical rescue aircraft, developed by Vertaxi in partnership with Ruijin Hospital.

Volant Aerotech announced orders for 260 aircraft from domestic and international customers and launched a 300-million-yuan ($44.3-million) industry fund, propelling the industry's transition from technology validation to large-scale commercial operations.

The event also saw the release of the Asia-Pacific Low-Altitude Economy Collaborative Development Initiative, while promoting cooperation among Shanghai districts including Changning, Minhang, Jinshan and Qingpu to strengthen regional industrial collaboration.

More than 80 forums, business matchmaking events and industry activities were held alongside the exhibition.

Leveraging its strengths in transportation, exhibitions, business and innovation, the Hongqiao International Central Business District is expanding its role in Shanghai's low-altitude economy. Organizers said the successful expo will further accelerate the high-quality development of the advanced air mobility industry.
