German intralogistics specialist Jungheinrich will unveil its next-generation smart warehouse planning platform, SMART Plus 3.0, for the first time in the Asia-Pacific region at the ninth China International Import Expo (CIIE), held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10.
The company will also use a model display to showcase integrated, automated warehousing and logistics solutions for pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, and automotive components and manufacturing.
Developed by local system engineers with the help of AI-assisted programming, Simulated Modular Automated Intralogistic Realization Technique, or SMART Plus 3.0, combines decades of automation design expertise with artificial intelligence to simplify warehouse planning. The platform retains digital twin, 3D visualization, and modular design capabilities, enabling sales teams and customers to run preliminary designs and simulations through a visual interface.
Previously, designing and validating automated warehouse proposals could take several professional engineers two to three weeks. The new platform aims to speed up the process and make it more accessible by translating complex engineering requirements into language customers can easily understand.
Jungheinrich will participate in the CIIE for the ninth consecutive year. The German group established a presence in the Qingpu area of Shanghai's Hongqiao International Central Business District in 2004. Since then, its footprint has expanded in China, and products from its Qingpu plant now reach more than 40 countries through its global sales network.
The company views the CIIE as a platform to connect Chinese innovation with global markets, with SMART Plus 3.0 expected to serve customers in China before expanding to projects across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
