Changning district is using Hongqiao's opening-up resources to help local dining brands expand overseas, as Shanghai builds an international consumption center and the district upgrades its new dining economy.
In recent years, Changning has focused on catering as both a driver of vitality and a daily service sector. Through targeted services, policy support, institutional innovation and commercial-area coordination, it is building a consumer ecosystem that combines international appeal with urban life.
The district has developed specialized tracks including coffee and tea drinks, forming a full chain that connects brand centers, design and research, functional headquarters and overseas expansion. It has attracted headquarters enterprises such as CHAGEE and is building an overseas expansion headquarters cluster in Hongqiao.
Changning is also improving services across the full life cycle of catering companies. It has organized Hongqiao overseas expansion salons, hosted a China catering overseas expansion forum and built the Hongqiao catering innovation valley, where the first group of companies has moved in. Supported by the Hongqiao International Opening-up Hub, CHAGEE has set up its global business center and is accelerating expansion in Southeast Asia.
Digital and intelligent tools are creating new consumption scenarios. Black Lake Technologies is helping dining brands build full-chain digital management systems. In contrast, unmanned kitchen systems and coffee machines are being used in communities, office buildings, business districts and transport hubs.
By linking smart technologies and overseas support, Changning is turning dining into a lever for consumption upgrading, industrial clustering and brand globalization.
