Shanghai Donglei Brain Hospital hosted the second Donglei Brain International Neurosurgery Forum in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District on June 27.
The forum focused on strengthening medical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and promoting international academic exchange.
Neurosurgery experts from Turkiye, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan joined hundreds of Chinese specialists for the forum.
During the event, Shanghai Donglei Brain Hospital signed cooperation agreements with the Faculty of Medicine at Indonesia's Airlangga University and its affiliated hospital. It also signed a letter of intent with Egypt's MHS Avicenna Medical Management Company to jointly develop the China-Arab Neuroscience Center.
The Yangtze River Delta International Medical and Premium Healthcare Services Alliance was also launched. The alliance comprises 30 founding members, with Shanghai Donglei Brain Hospital serving as its inaugural rotating chair.
Since becoming one of Shanghai's first pilot institutions for international medical tourism in 2020, the hospital has expanded its global network through medical partnerships, talent training, and patient services.
The hospital has recruited international physicians, welcomed medical students from 18 countries for clinical training, and provided treatment to more than 2,500 patients from over 30 countries and regions.
Hospital officials said an increasing number of overseas patients are choosing Shanghai for neurosurgery because of its advanced medical technology and high-quality care.
