China's first bee-themed exhibition featuring the popular Chinese cartoon IP Meiji and Dashu has opened at The Hub·Xintiandi in Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District as part of the 2026 Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season.
Running from July 3 to Sept 6, the exhibition is offering themed installations, interactive experiences, a limited-time pop-up store and exclusive merchandise.
Meiji and Dashu features three animal characters whose humorous take on workplace life has become popular among young Chinese internet users. The exhibition transforms the characters into "bee employees" across six immersive scenes, allowing visitors to explore office-inspired settings and interact with the displays.
A pop-up store has also opened, offering 17 exclusive products and seven promotional gifts, including plush keychains, badges, folders and office accessories.
The Hub·Xintiandi has also scheduled a range of themed events during the exhibition, including character meet-and-greets, interactive check-in activities, after-work gatherings for office workers, and family-friendly treasure hunts.
The venue will launch its Midsummer Bee Shopping Festival from July 10 to 12, featuring shopping discounts, dining promotions, prize draws and free parking.
From July 10 to 21, The Hub·Xintiandi will also host a limited-time membership pop-up with Chinese video platform Bilibili, coinciding with Bilibili World 2026 at the nearby National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
