The festival combines the traditional charm of Jiangnan water towns with contemporary immersive art installations. A key feature is the cat god light exhibition, created in collaboration with Lan Tian, a visual artist recognized with the Golden Rooster Awards. Every half hour from 7:30 pm to 9 pm, water surfaces are illuminated with dynamic projections of the cat god. Additionally, visitors can participate in cat god parades on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
About 3,000 square meters of lotus bloom across Panlong Xintiandi. Floating lotus boats drift along waterways on Friday and weekends, while a water market serves floral handicrafts and seasonal treats at the grain warehouse and wharf until Sept 13.
The Island Hopping Water Sports Center hosts yoga, a floating bar, an open mic, and live music sessions. The limited project Island Hopping Summer runs from June to Aug 30. In addition, there are also some activities for family-friendly splashing.
To boost night visits, more than 40 shops extend their opening hours with buy-one-get-one offers and limited happy-hour benefits. Free parking is available daily from 9 pm to 3 am, and Didi taxi discounts start from 30 percent off and apply for trips to the complex after dark.
