Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport has introduced four new services designed to make travel more convenient for inbound and transit passengers.

The airport now offers complimentary luggage storage for visa-free transit passengers. Travelers can store one piece of luggage free of charge for up to 72 hours at the luggage service counter near Gate 6 in the departure area of Terminal 1, with no size restrictions.

A wheelchair rental service is also available for elderly passengers and those with reduced mobility. Travelers can rent a wheelchair at the information desk in Terminal 1 for 20 yuan (about $2.94) per day and return it at a designated airport location by calling the service hotline.

To help visitors explore Shanghai with greater ease, the airport has established a one-stop travel information center in the international arrivals area of Terminal 1 in partnership with Trip.com Group. The center provides travel planning, internet access, mobile payment setup, transport information, and personalized travel advice. Visitors can also receive discount vouchers, a complimentary one-day mobile data package, and join a free half-day guided tour of Yuyuan Garden and the City God Temple area.

The airport has also expanded its currency exchange and tax refund service. Currency exchange counters now support 43 currencies, up from 38, while tax refund services include cash and bank transfer options as well as self-service kiosks for faster processing. Tax refund counters remain open until the departure of the day's final international flight.
