A major ecological greenway in Shanghai's North Hongqiao area is taking shape as the first phase of the Green Wild Valley opens to the public, with additional scenic areas under construction.
Located in Jiangqiao town in the Jiading district, near Fengbang Station on Metro Line 14, the 1.5-kilometer greenway is designed as a large public park serving nearby communities.
The newly opened first section, known as the Forest Zone, features shaded walking trails, a 100-meter-long flower corridor, woodland landscapes, and open spaces for walking, jogging, and family activities. It is part of a broader plan to create an all-season recreational destination for visitors of all ages.
The second phase of construction started earlier this year and is progressing as planned. This phase will introduce three themed areas: a Flower Walk with vibrant seasonal blooms, a Countryside Landscape modeled after traditional farmland, and a Valley Zone comprising lawns, woods, and peaceful spots for relaxation.
Once completed, the four interconnected zones will integrate ecological conservation with leisure, sports, and family-friendly recreation, creating a continuous green corridor across the area.
As a key public project for North Hongqiao's ecological community development, Green Wild Valley is expected to improve local green space, expand recreational facilities, and enhance the area's livability. The completed park aims to become a "second living room" for the community, offering residents more opportunities to enjoy nature close to home.
