In Algeria's El Oued province, on the northern edge of the Sahara Desert, a new 300-megawatt solar power plant with a China connection is quietly harnessing intense sunlight to generate clean energy.
Back in China, Delixi Electric's subsidiary that is located in the Hongqiao International Central Business District of Shanghai supplied advanced equipment for the project — underscoring its role in driving green cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

In El Oued province, the plant faces extreme conditions, with daily temperatures exceeding 50 Celsius, sharp temperature swings between day and night and more than 200 days of sandstorms each year. These harsh conditions place stringent demands on the reliability and safety of all core components.

At the very heart of the new energy plant — the direct current combiner box — Delixi Electric's CDGNE-400 DC 1500V isolating switch ensures a smooth and stable performance.
Especially designed for high-voltage photovoltaic systems, the device helps safeguard safe and efficient operations, earning it the nickname of the "guardian of green power".
Before deployment, each product undergoes rigorous environmental adaptation tests. "Our facilities can simulate conditions ranging from minus 40 C to 160 C, while shock chambers replicate sudden shifts from minus 78 C to 200 C, guaranteeing reliability worldwide," said a Delixi Electric product manager.
The isolating switch also features a user-friendly design, with clear break points and a visible isolation status that eliminates the risk of malfunctions. In emergencies, it provides secure physical isolation to prevent electric shocks.
The successful commissioning of the El Oued project is seen as marking a milestone in reducing reliance on fossil fuels and improving Algeria's energy mix.
By delivering core solutions, Delixi Electric has demonstrated both China's strength in new energy manufacturing and its commitment to global sustainability.
